When Jackie reached out about rebranding her photography business, she had one major request: lots of blush!! I was more than happy to make that dream come true! Jackie had been using Showit for a while, but her template just wasn’t reflecting her personality and wasn’t optimized. As Jackie’s business has grown and matured over the past couple of years, it was time for her website to do the same! We worked together to create a beautiful new brand, logo, and website!
Here are some of my favorite details about Jackie’s new site!
- The beautiful fonts! We paired a delicate serif with an elegant script font and a modern sans-serif subheading font!
- The watercolor details that give some subtle texture to her site and tie in her logo and branding.
- The blog! Jackie’s blog was a major frustration from her old site, so this was at the top of our priority list for creating a beautiful and strategic user experience!
Thank you Jackie for sharing a bit about your experience!

Hey friends! I am Jackie and I am a wedding photographer based in Northern Virginia. I love creating an authentic and memorable photography experience for my clients, while providing them beautiful imagery! I truly value personal connections, and working with wonderful clients is one of the many amazing aspects of being a wedding photographer. Beyond that, I am a beach enthusiast and lover of all things rose gold and blush.
I have been blessed to experience so much growth and development in my business during the past year. My old website just did not seem to fully reflect my business and everything I have learned, and I felt “stuck” with my online presence. I wanted to refine some aspects of my brand, and now, my new site perfectly captures that. I also really wanted to get into blogging more, and now I have a beautiful new blog to use!
All of it! Alex has a true knack for making your website a beautiful representation of your brand, and she did exactly that with my site. I love how it incorporates so many details and elements that relate to my style of photography (watercolor washes, floral and greenery elements, and just overall pretty details), all while showcasing my images so elegantly.
Invest in a web designer and support another small business if you can! Photography is my strength, not web design, so I knew my limitations and recognized that I could never build a website from scratch that accurately represented my brand. There are many web designers out there, and I think the most significant thing is finding one who shares similarities in work ethics. I looked at many different web designers, and identified what was most important to me for the process! For example, working with someone who specializes in websites and brands for wedding professionals was important to me, as well as finding someone who focuses on details. I am a super detail-oriented wedding photographer, and Alex is a super detail-oriented web designer for wedding professionals, so working together was wonderful because we had those things in common.
I built my old site through a ShowIt template, so I was slightly comfortable with the platform. Alex taught me a lot of tips and tricks and now I feel much more confident using ShowIt. If you are a wedding professional or creative, and need a new site platform, ShowIt is definitely the way to go (and of course hire Alex Collier Design to build your site!)
Thanks so much, Jackie! Here’s to a new chapter for J St. Clair Photography!
