Today I’m celebrating the launch of a new Showit website for Rachel Mandel at Mandelette Photography!
Rachel is a fine art wedding photographer in Chicago, Illinois with a classic, timeless style. Like me, she is a former teacher! Rachel is such a talented photographer with an eye for capturing true joy and love. In addition to working with her wedding couples, Rachel also serves fellow photographers through her mentorship services.
Rachel and I worked together on a Showit template customization project for her site. She actually chose two templates she loved and we were able to combine elements of both: Sanibel Island and Positano, both by Davey and Krista.
I love template customization projects because it’s so fun to watch my clients take a template and make it totally their own! Often even just inputting your own images gives the template a totally different look and feel. Here are some more things we did to make Rachel’s site perfect for her:
- Optimized for SEO by setting SEO page titles and meta descriptions, and writing alt text for all images
- Changed the template “family portraits” page to an “investment” page with more details about working with Rachel
- Added a fun “wedding showcase” section to her homepage
- Embedded Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and Hotjar tracking code
- Changed some canvas styles to include bigger, splashier images
I asked Rachel to share a little bit about her experience moving from Squarespace to Showit! Here’s what she had to say:
Why did you decide to switch to Showit?
I was tired of not being able to customize my website the way I wanted to in order to showcase my work.
It was super easy since Alex did most of the work! I would not have been able to do it without her help, since I am tech-challenged! The interface is very different, making it intimidating without someone walking me through it. I learned how to change things around, and she made it beautiful in no time at all!
What are you most excited for now that your new site has launched?
Elevating my brand, and making sure that I walk the walk and talk the talk as a fine art wedding photographer, with a website to showcase my true brand!
